The Historic Bingen Theater is a community -based performing arts center and recording studio located in Bingen, WA in the heart of the majestic Columbia River Gorge. Located approximately 70 miles east of Portland, Oregon, the theater is uniquely positioned within a few minutes drive of Hood River, OR and White Salmon, WA.
The Bingen Theater began life in 1949 as a movie theater called the Canyon Theater, showing double-feature films during Hollywood’s Golden Age. Now under the ownership of Rod Krehbiel , the theater is a fully equipped venue with the production capacity to host a wide range of events including theatrical productions, concerts, community events, film screenings and more.
The Bingen Theater accommodates seating for 164 ( with a standing room / fire code cap of 224) and offers top notch sound and clear lines of sight, creating an intimate, engaging experience for audiences. It is currently also home to Big Britches Productions and Sasquatch Recording.
