Society Hotel

Nestled in the hillside in Bingen, Washington–part of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area–is The Society Hotel. The Hotel somehow manages to effortlessly blend comfort and luxury.

The 7500-square-foot facility served as the school for Bingen and White Salmon, Washington, from 1938 until the 1970’s, and in 1988 was converted into a hostel, which offered private rooms and dormitory style accommodations.
Renovations began in the Fall of 2017, and The Society Hotel opened its doors in May, 2019 and has been an amazing addition to the area, bringing lots of visitors to Bingen and the surrounding areas!

Combining modern comfort with historical preservation, the historic schoolhouse has retained some original features during its conversion, including the multipurpose gym which has been restored and upgraded, keeping the original gym floor and bleachers intact, perfect for shooting hoops to hosting corporate meetings.
Ample community spaces are a signature of The Society Hotel. Offering numerous gathering areas, the lobby boasts plenty of comfortable seating around the fireplace, a café and bar serving regional coffee, tea and pastries, as well as cocktails, local wine and beer and long communal tables for games or just hanging out!
The café is open everyday from 7 AM until 10 PM, and includes a daily Happy Hour from 4 to 6 PM!

There are five different accommodations at the Hotel–32 rooms total–including 20 private cabins that encircle the community Spa building with an indoor soaking pool, an outdoor hot tub, a sauna and cold plunge.

There are two bunk rooms–each with 24 beds–for the affordable community experience, Standard King or Queen rooms with shared bathrooms for comfort, and the King or Double Queen cabins featuring kitchenettes and patio hammocks, for a taste of affordable luxury. Each guest (with the exception of bunk rooms) will have an hour of Spa access per day with their reservation!
(Locals not staying at the Hotel may also purchase a pass to the Spa!)

In addition, there are picnic tables on the grounds to enhance your stay and enjoy the peaceful outdoors!
Lastly, a beautiful onsite community structure, called “The Sanctuary” is available to rent for classes, retreats and workshops.

Why not book your stay today and see all the Columbia Gorge has to offer!!
